Born in 1997, Laboratorios Abies is a Uruguayan company whose mission aims at improving quality life through medicines mostly based on plant extracts, with proven scientific effectiveness and produced in a pharmaceutical plant compliant with GMP standards.

In 1997, Abies created the  first GMP certified national laboratory  exclusively for medicines and supplements based on plant extracts. Since its early days, Laboratorios Abies brings to its communication strategy the concepts of Science+Nature and We Encapsulate Nature, as ways to convey the company’s commitment to qualified plant extracts according to the Pharmacopeia, together with the production of medicines and supplements in a pharmaceutical plant.  

Currently, Abies medicines and supplements are named under the concept Go Natural with Pharmaceutical Quality, which defines and summarizes the production process.

Its founders, who came from the Pharmaceutical Industry and other health areas, brought the rigor of that industry into the mix, and what was a dream at the time, came to life: introducing a natural therapeutic option with scientific effectiveness, as it already existed in countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Germany, England and Holland, among others.

Laboratorios Abies works with a small group of suppliers, most of them from Europe, who have been selected for the quality of their raw material, constant and sustained over time.

Once the raw material enters the laboratory, it is sent for analysis to external analysis laboratories to certify the power and purity of the product.

Once the raw material is approved, it goes to production at Abies’ pharmaceutical plant, and the finished product is again analyzed by external laboratories before being approved for sale.

This process certifies the quality and efficiency of the product.

Since 2013, with the incorporation of new members to the team, the company begins another stage: leading innovation, maintaining an unparalleled standard of quality, service, purity and innovation; with strategic allies who support this process and with whom each new product is defined.

The launches of recent years are formulas that combine substances, according to scientifically proven results and to the advice that Abies receives from its team abroad.

Since 2018, most of our products are encapsulated in Vcaps vegetarian capsules, and we plan to have all product registrations in Vcaps vegetarian capsules by end of 2021.
